HOLDERS Rudheath added another Northwich and District League Team Knockout title to their collection following a 4-1 victory against Gladstone A in last Wednesday’s final.
The nine-time winners eased into a 2-0 lead against their top-flight rivals before the next two frames were shared, leaving Fred Backhouse to settle the outcome by beating Gladstone captain Andy Hollinshead in the fifth.
Gladstone B claimed the Supplementary Shield, contested by sides who exited the Team Knockout at the first-round stage, following a 4-0 defeat of newly-crowned Division Two champions Greenbank A.
In a lengthy tactical battle at Castle Private, the experience of Paul Brown’s team proved decisive.
