WINNINGTON romped to an unexpectedly comfortable victory against old foes Oxton in the Cheshire Women’s League top tier on Saturday.
Park goalkeeper Helen Hogben was called into action several times in the first half, but the hosts reached the break two goals to the good.
They cruised in the second period, with player of the match Karen Morgan taking her personal tally to six goals while strikes Leona Wyllie and Jess Morris completed the rout.
Meanwhile Winnington’s second string preserved their status in Division Four for another season after a 2-0 win at Alderley Edge fourths.
In a must-win game, a solo effort from Jasmine Barlow and a goal by Di Fielding from a short corner sealed Park’s latest victory in a sequence that has seen them win four of their past five league games.
