More than half the starting line up featured teenagers from their Senior Colts side to take on a team with their sights set on a play off place come the end of the campaign.
Park soon settled and their confidence grew as they spent a prolonged period on the attack.
Neil Welch, playing out of position at fly half, was calling the shots in offence feeding Ben Richardson and Dave Cross who continually broke the gain line.
And on the half hour the hosts turned pressure into points and took a deserved lead as Nathan Archer converted a penalty.
Broughton bounced back before break, scoring a converted try.
Mark Warr's men struggled to muster any real momentum after the interval and, despite showing glimpses of attacking flair, it was always from deep and they did not threaten the opposition's try line.
Park threw caution to the wind for the final quarter but when a promising move involving the stalwart Patterson brothers broke down, Broughton were quick to pounce and showed good hands to score in the corner.
A further, unconverted try in the last minute inflated a scoreline which flattered the visitors and could ultimately condemn Winnington to relegation.
"We can take a lot of heart from that performance," said first teamer Sam Barton.
