Division One: Review of the Week

STALYBRIDGE Celtic Reserves did Pilkington's title hopes damage as they sneaked a 3-2 win over the league leaders.

Danny Cocks found the net in the 50th and 58th minutes before Rick Whyatt added a third.

Their midweek win over Gamesley lifts them up to fifth.

Middlewich Town continued their climb up the table, firstly drawing 1-1 with Curzon Ashton Reserves on Easter Monday before smashing four past Knutsford on a wet and windy Saturday.

Jon Edwards, Mike Brandon, Andy Whitney and Dean Clarke all found the net.

Although Terry Murphy's men are currently in eighth spot and 20 points behind the leaders, they still have eight games in hand over the top three sides.

Gamesley move up to 13th following their 2-0 win over Curzon Ashton Reserves.

Ash Roberts opened the scoring in the first half before a Mike Dewhurst penalty doubled their lead after the interval.

Lee Boardman put Crosfields ahead at Witton Albion Reserves only for Matt Woolley to equalise.

The sides remained in a deadlock until Ste Cross hit the winner five minutes from time.
