STEVE O'Hara vowed to stay positive after his side's reverse against title chasers Pilkington.

"We are all disappointed with the result," he said afterwards.

"But the players have responded well from last week's defeat and the spirit among them is second to none."

Skipper Chris Bailey got the home side off to the best possible start when his second attempt looped over the stranded keeper but Pilks got back into the game on 21 minutes with a good header.

Murray was taken off injured on the hour and, soon afterwards, a poor backpass from Paul Allen was intercepted.

The visitors' front man ran through on goal only to be felled by keeper Hewitt, who was sent off and a penalty was awarded.

After taking the gloves Allen got a hand to the kick but was unable to keep the ball out.

Despite the defeat O'Hara was happy with what he saw.

He added: "The squad is strong, competition for places is good and the support from the players on the bench is brilliant."
