PILKINGTON moved to within three points of the league leaders after sneaking a 3-2 win over Woodley.

Greenalls Padgate St Oswald were held to a goalless draw at home to Knutsford.

Styal also moved their way up the table despite going behind early on in their fixture against Gamesley.

Chris Gordon put Gamesley ahead, but an impressive header from Sef Chambers and a great strike from winger John Thornton put Styal in front.

A further goal from Darren Vernon and a second bullet header from Chambers killed the game off.

Styal now sit in third on equal points with Pilkington.

Stalybridge Celtic Reserves extended their unbeaten run to six games as they beat Poynton.

Nick Ferguson put Celtic ahead after 29 minutes and they had to fight hard to keep hold of their lead against much-improved Poynton.

An Tom Swann goal saw Barnton sneak a 1-0 win over Crosfields.

Champions Middlewich Town stole the show as they returned to full strength with an impressive 7-0 win over Rylands.

Lee Jones and Andy Whitney put the Witches 2-0 up at half time as Terry Murphy's men banished the disappointment of recent results.

The second half saw Mike Brandon grab himself a hat-trick, while sub Stuart Tulloch's spot kick and another goal by Steve Warburton completed the rout.
