NORTHWICH turned on the style to record a tenth successive league win, closing the gap to league leaders Lymm to just four points.
Blacks ran in five unanswered tries in a scintillating first half showing.
Chris James, Andrew Chubb, Steve Campbell, player coach Dodo Muntean and former Winnington Park colt Ryan McKibbin all crossed before the break to leave Leigh shell-shocked.
Adam Bown’s score at the start of the second period stretched the visitors’ lead to 38-0 before the hosts restored some semblance of respectability to the result with two tries of their own.
The Moss Farm men have now played as many matches as the season-long table-toppers but, with a trip to Warrington still to come, they have not given up hope of taking the North One West table.
Tyldesley visit Northwich next weekend.
