Raging Bull Colts League allow Northwich junior colts to complete season

Stay of execution for Northwich colts Stay of execution for Northwich colts

NORTHWICH Junior Colts have avoided being kicked out of their league despite failing to complete a match in almost three months.

Raging Bull Colts League bosses say they do not want to prevent teenagers playing the game.

“We’ve had an assurance from coach Alex Cartney that they remain committed to the competition,” said secretary Jon Kitchen.

“In support of their efforts and for keeping us informed, we have agreed to extend a stay of execution.”

The league operates a three strikes system, which allows them to expel any team that concedes a trio of matches in any one season.

Indeed, they threw out Trafford MV’s senior colts this week for breaking the rule.

Northwich’s U17s, currently penultimate bottom in Junior D, have not played a league game since their 52-5 reverse at home to Bury on November 15.

They handed the points to Liverpool St Helens, Ormskirk and Southport since then, putting their place in the league in jeopardy.

A scheduled Cheshire Junior Cup first round clash Port Sunlight went the same way too.

Blacks, who have won only one of the 13 league games to date, are now due to return to league action at Marple on Sunday week.
