NORTHWICH won an ninth successive league match at Sandbach on Saturday to continue their push for promotion from North One West.
They came from behind to win 16-11, completing a double over their neighbours this term.
But Blacks were pushed all the way, only edging ahead in the final quarter when Richard Dale held his nerve to convert a long distance penalty attempt.
Player coach Dodo Muntean slotted a stunning drop goal to seal victory and, despite a late flurry from the hosts, Northwich held on to keep up the pressure on long-time leaders Lymm, whose match at Vale of Lune was postponed.
The men from Moss Farm are now six points behind the title favourites, with one game in hand, with a head-to-head against their Warrington foes due at the end of the season.
Altrincham Kersal are three points further back in third place.
