NORTHWICH will be motivated to avenge a defeat at Wilmslow earlier this season when the teams meet again on Saturday.

Blacks led 11-5 at the end of normal time during the rivals’ head-to-head in November, and yet lost the game.

They won’t have forgotten either.

Martin Poste’s men, second in North One West, were denied by the weather from travelling to Firwood Waterloo – a direct rival for a promotion play-off place – last weekend.

Wilmslow’s home date with Warrington was aborted too and they arrive at Moss Farm – where they were 21-6 victors last term – occupying sixth position in the table.

Winnington Park hope to play a first league game in five weeks when they head to Oswestry.

Despite having their attention on the RFU Senior Vase, before a date with Oldershaw last weekend was called off, they remain five points clear at the South Lancs/Cheshire Division Two summit.

They will expect to pick up where they left off against hosts that have lost seven of nine games in front of their own supporters this season.

Matt Farr’s men prevailed 24-5 in the return before Christmas.

In the North West Intermediate League, Park’s thirds’ clash with their Northwich counterparts in Division Four South is the pick of Saturday’s games.
