MARTIN Poste’s side will head to Sefton this Saturday with one target in mind; register an eighth successive win and – if possible – bring back a bonus point too.

Blacks remain third in the South Lancs/Cheshire Division One table despite their remarkable run, which is proof of the pace set by leading duo Liverpool St Helens and West Park.

Sefton, beaten 40-18 at Moss Farm in September, have won three consecutive matches on home turf.

Indeed, four of their five league wins this term have been at Thornhead Lane.

Northwich will not need reminding either that both of their visits to Sefton since they were relegated in 2013 have ended in defeat.

Last season’s corresponding fixture resulted in a 26-17 victory for the hosts.

Blacks were due at Wigan last weekend, only for the match to be postponed when persistent rain left their opponents’ pitch waterlogged.

Their most recent outing was a 34-7 defeat of Anselmians at Moss Farm, where Joel Barber’s hat-trick of tries secured a bonus-point win.

Captain Chris Dale and fly-half James Underhill touched down too.
