CONNOR Behan scored his first podium finish in the British 125GP Championship at his home circuit on Bank Holiday Monday.

The Barnton teenager crossed the line second at Oulton Park behind race winner Matthew Hoyle to cap a fine weekend.

Despite having an off during the race when two bikes touched, he managed to keep control of the bike and fight his way back through the field.

He qualified fifth on the grid, once more his best performance to date, after topping the time sheets during Saturday's second practice session.

He is fourth in the standings following the opening two rounds, second in the Academy Cup for drivers aged 16 and under.

His next outing is in this weekend's rearranged Brands Hatch round, where he will start from 10th on the grid.

The meeting was aborted last month due to heavy snowfall, but times set in qualifying still stand
