NORTHWICH ace Lewis Adamson overcame an engine failure to record a fine victory in the Cheshire Kart Racing Club’s second round last week.

The Kingsmead driver did not finish the first heat at Ellesmere Port’s Hooton Park circuit, but bounced back to score second and third position in the next two.

Starting from sixth place in the 15-laps final, he was ahead by the halfway point and held on to cross the line close to three seconds ahead of his nearest rival.

“It was a tough weekend,” said Adamson afterwards.

“I was gutted when the engine went so soon into the first heat, so to come back with a win was a boost for everybody.”

He sits second in the Junior Rotax Max class after two rounds, one point behind early pacesetter Ryan Jones.

The series resumes on April 10.
