OLIVER Webb plans to prove last weekend’s wins on a circuit he had never seen before was no fluke ahead of racing at another.
The Knutsford teenager races in round four of the Cooper Tires British F3 International series at the German Grand Prix circuit Hockenheim tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday.
He heads to the second of the three European circuits on the calendar two points clear of closest rival Jean-Eric Vergne (Carlin Motorsport) in the drivers’ standings.
“I’m still on a high,” he said.
“I think I can hang on to the championship lead so long as we keep pushing the way we are.”
Webb has only had limited running at Hockenheim, the venue for races 10, 11 and 12 of his debut season racing at this level.
However, as he proved at Magny-Cours last week, a lack of circuit knowledge need not be an obstacle.
“I’ve only done a day at Hockenheim in a Formula Renault car – that’s it – but I liked the track a lot,” he added.
The 19-year-old, who races for Fortec Motorsport, took part in testing yesterday, Thursday and this morning before this afternoon’s qualifying session.
Two races follow on Saturday before a third on Sunday.
