ROB Hopley marked his 100th appearance for Witton by scoring a winning goal against Whitby.
The striker was sent on as a substitute during the second-half after Albion reached the interval trailing to Kyle Fryatt’s early opener for the Seasiders.
Tom Owens poked in an equaliser at the back post on the hour before Hopley netted a 55th goal since switching to Northwich from Colwyn Bay when he steered a rebound into the net.
Carl Macauley’s men, without a win in the Northern Premier League on their travels since September, rise to eighth in the table as a reward.
Barnton suffered their heaviest defeat of the campaign to date at Abbey Hey, a result manager Steve Lloyd described afterwards as ‘unacceptable.’
Daniel Heffernan scored a hat-trick for the hosts inside the opening half-hour, setting them on a course towards only their second home win of the season in a North West Counties League fixture.
George Mannion netted the Villagers’ consolation in a 7-1 thrashing.
Every single one of us in that @barntonfc dressing room knows that today was just not acceptable, I can only personally apologise to everyone that travelled, sorry #Mirrors

Games in the Premier Division involving 1874 Northwich, Northwich Victoria and Winsford United were postponed because of the wet weather.
It was a similar story in the Cheshire League, although in-form Middlewich Town made the most of playing on an artificial surface to reach the League One summit.
Sam Wakefield, Rory Gorton and substitute Nathan Devaney all scored doubles in a 6-3 success at AFC Macclesfield.
What a comeback from the lads! Another win in the bag😀

In the Crewe and District League, defending champions Winsford Saxons let slip a 3-1 interval lead in a 4-3 reverse at home to Sandbach Curshaws.
Tale of 2 halves today, 1st half superb coming in at 3-1 (could have been more) 2nd half absolutely shocking couldn’t get going Curshaws capitalised & took there chances.
