LOSTOCK Gralam have started the search for a new manager.

Ross Speight, after nine years at the club, has decided to step down at the end of the current season.

Applicants should apply via email to club secretary Jason Dudley at greylambs@gmail.com.

"I'd like to think that I have helped improve this club in my time and it has been a successful period in the club's history," said Speight.

"It has not been an easy decision to make but it is a decision I have thought very long and hard about.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at the club as a player, coach, assistant manager and manager, but now I feel is the right time for me to leave for a fresh challenge and for someone else to come in and take the club forward."

He added: "I would like to thank my chairman Bob Barrow who has been brilliant with me since he took over, always supportive and made certain parts of my job a lot easier.

"I would also like to thank all of the people I have worked and played with during my time. We have had some fantastic people involved over the past nine years.

"I wish whoever takes on the role at the fantastic club all the best in the future."

A club statement reads: "The club would like to put on record their thanks to Ross for his tremendous, hard work throughout his time with the club.

"Ross has definitely proved an asset to the Grey Lambs and will be missed.

"Lostock Gralam Football Club wish Ross the very best for the future as we look towards a new chapter at the football club.

"The club will now look to appoint Ross' successor as manager for the 2015 / 2016 campaign."
