GREENALLS can claim a maiden Cheshire League title if they score four points from their remaining matches, writes Andrew Simpson.

The Warrington outfit both games at home too, starting with a visit from Northwich Villa tomorrow, Tuesday.

They trail season-long leaders Pilkington by three points, but the table-toppers completed their campaign with a disappointing defeat at resurgent Rylands at the weekend.

Andy Dodson, Steve Clarke and Neil Sutch were on target in a 3-0 win that helps the victors up to seventh spot in the standings.

Greenalls drew at home to Styal.

Elsewhere Eagle Sports lost at Gamesley, allowing Middlewich Town to close within a point of third place.

John Shakeshaft and top scorer Craig Millington, who takes his season tally to 24, helped the Witches to a 2-1 win at Billinge on Saturday.

Three players scored a hat-trick in a crazy encounter a the Victoria Stadium where hosts Northwich Villa, buoyed by trebles for strike pair Kwame Barnett and Nicky McGerton, beat Knutsford in a ten-goals thriller.

Tom Schofield replied with three goals of his own.

Home wins for Golborne Sports and Tarporley Victoria, at the expense of champions Club AZ and Garswood United respectively, complete the weekend’s picture.
