Pilkington continue their march towards Cheshire League Division One title

TITLE favourites Pilkington extended their lead at the top of Division One to 11 points after defeating former champions Styal on Saturday, writes Andrew Simpson.

Closest rivals Eagle Sports were not in action, while third-placed Lostock Gralam lost for the first time since the turn of the year at Greenalls.

The Warrington outfit close to within four points of the Grey Lambs as a result.

Elsewhere Knutsford recorded their biggest league win of the campaign – 5-1 at rock-bottom Linotype - to climb up to fifth position in the table.

Phil Harrison scored against former club Golborne Sports to help his new one, Middlewich Town, remain in contention to challenge for top spot.

The Witches have seven games in hand on the leaders with a 20-points deficit to make up.

Tarporley Victoria shared the spoils with Rylands following a 1-1 draw in the other encounter.

In Division Two, Moore United returned home from penultimate-bottom Malpas with a point after a tie.
