STRUGGLERS Winnington Avenue recorded their best result of the season after sharing the spoils with MMU Cheshire A following a six-goals draw, writes Mike Talbot-Butler.
Barnton Wanderers picked up a point too following a 2-2 draw with Sandbach Town at Moss Farm, where Darren Simmons and Chris Roberts were on target for the hosts.
Elsewhere Malpas reserves climb into second spot in the standings after scoring five times at home to Barnton reserves, for whom Duncan McCann claimed a consolation.
League leaders Cuddington gave higher-ranked Northwich Villa, from the Cheshire League’s top flight, a fright before eventually bowing out of the Mid-Cheshire FA District Cup at the quarter finals stage.
