LEADERS Pilkington moved eight points clear at the top of the Division One table following a fine five-goals success against Golborne Sports, writes Rob Wood.
In the only other top flight contest to survive the weather, Garswood United edged a close encounter against rock-bottom Linotype to climb into the standings’ top half.
Elsewhere Tarporley Victoria progressed to the JB Parker Challenge Cup’s last four after dumping out league champions Club AZ.
Both of Division Two’s title hopefuls picked up maximum points.
Table-toppers Denton Town put six goals past .Malpas while closest rivals Grappenhall Sports, second only on goals difference, cruised to victory at Barnton.
There was a win too for Moore United, who proved too strong for Congleton Town reserves.
League newcomers Rudheath Social bowed out of the Division Two Cup’s quarter finals at Crewe.
