RUDHEATH reached the last four of the Cheshire FA Sunday Cup after sending out last season’s runners-up, writes Mike Alcock.
Jon Edwards fired the Northwich-based team in front midway through the first half against Stockport District League outfit Queen’s Bredbury, only for Jack Bryning to put through his own goal a quarter hour later.
However Gary Bryning scored in the closing stages to seal victory.
Elsewhere Pockets and Old Star both eased into the semi finals of the Mid-Cheshire FA District Sunday Cup after recording comfortable wins against Forest Road and Three Greyhounds respectively.
Clive Hampshire’s late winner helped Saxons to edge past Blue Barrel by the odd goal in seven in the round’s other tie.
Meanwhile in Division Two, goals from Stephen Crotty, Mike Stenhouse and Iain Curtain gave George & Dragon Dusters a narrow win over Saxons Athletic.
