Lostock Gralam win leaves Middlewich Town boss Dave Parr with a headache

LOSTOCK Gralam took first claim of local bragging rights with a deserved victory at neighbours Middlewich Town.

It left Witches boss Dave Parr with plenty to ponder.

“There was no excuse for our first half performance,” he said afterwards.

“It’s not what I expect from one of my teams and it is unacceptable.”

The hosts trailed when James Horne’s cross eluded Town keeper Darren Shaw and floated into the far corner of the net.

And the Grey Lambs doubled their tally before the break.

Mike Butters led a swift counter attack following a Middlewich corner, Dom Johnson and Courtney McEvoy adding touches before Kyle Wilding swept in from the edge of the box.

Neil Bithell’s men protected their lead after half time and substitute Craig Smith’s arrival put them under pressure.

He headed Middlewich’s goal from a free kick to halve their arrears, but they could not find a leveller.
