FORMER Middlewich Town veteran Joey Roberts fired St Joseph’s into the Mid-Cheshire Sunday League Cup final at the weekend, writes Mike Alcock.
He scored a hat-trick as they saw off Winsford neighbours The Ark to earn a final date with favourites Rudheath Social Club.
Broadhurst returned to the top of Division Two in the league’s match of the day after toppling previous table-toppers Three Greyhounds at Belmont Road.
Two goals from Chris McGivern and one each for Peter Wilson and Andy Carr gave the Rudheath-based side a comprehensive win.
Blue Barrel kept up their challenge after scoring nine times at Barn Owl, while FC Bull’s Head front man Chris Brown hit four goals in his side’s slender success against Goostrey.
Meanwhile Shaun Alcock’s late double at Woodford Leisure sent Gladstone to the Division One summit.
