WINNINGTON Avenue’s reserves exacted revenge on their clubmates for last week’s humiliating Arthur Cooke Trophy exit, writes Mike Talbot-Butler.
After conceding a dozen goals last week, they bounced back to win 6-1 in Saturday’s league encounter.
Boosted by a host of midweek signings, the reserves’ victory was achieved with two goals each from Mike Bell and Sean Bradley plus one apiece by Peter Buckley and Chris Roberts.
Will Reed replied for the humbled seniors.
In the only other game played on a day when the other matches were called off due to waterlogged pitches, Cuddington lost at home to Curshaws.
Duncan McCann was on target for the Norley Road men.
