GREG Lumsden scored seven goals for Winnington Avenue as they put a dozen past their own reserve team on Saturday, writes Mike Talbot-Butler.
Steve Hughes and Sam Reilly both scored twice with Gareth Richards completing the rout as the senior team ran out 12-4 victors in the Arthur Cooke Trophy clash.
Sean Bradley and Peter Buckley grabbed two apiece for the reserves, who will hope to fare better when the teams meet again on Saturday in a league fixture.
Elsewhere Barnton reserves coasted into the semi finals at the expense of their Tarporley Victoria counterparts.
Mike Carter (2), John Harrison and Jack Bryning were on target for the Town Field team.
Lostock Gralam’s second string went out of the Crewe & East Cheshire Inter-League Cup at the third round stage.
Boar Hound, unbeaten in their league competition so far this season, dominated an inexperienced Grey Lambs line-up as they cruised through to the next round.
Cuddington went down at Sandbach United in the only league game played to leave the men from Norley Road uncomfortably close the foot of the table.
