KYLE Maddock’s double helped Middlewich Town’s reserves to a 4-1 win at Winsford Saxons in the Mid-Cheshire District FA Challenge Cup.
Matthew Cann and Daniel Martin were on target too last Saturday at Knights Grange, from where the Witches left as Group B leaders.
Winnington Avenue 1994 prop up the table following a 3-1 defeat against Witton Albion’s reserves at Moss Farm, where James Robson netted a consolation.
Over 3 Grange are setting the pace in Group A after a 7-1 win against neighbours Winsford United reserves.
Karl Felton and Zak Finnigan both bagged a brace, while goals from Ashley Dale, Barry Jones and Sam Dodds completed a comprehensive victory.
Barnton Wanderers proved too strong for their guests Winnington Avenue, scoring six times without reply.
They sit second after swapping places with their opponents.
The top two teams from each group progress to the quarter finals, and the concluding games are scheduled for Saturday week, November 4.
Cheshire League sides Rudheath Social – the current holders – Lostock Gralam, Middlewich Town and Cuddington have a bye to the knockout stage.
