Why should I watch..?
After completing a successful defence of the Mid-Cheshire District FA Senior Cup in midweek, 1874 Northwich are hoping to end the campaign on a high.
They have won four of the past six games in all competitions, so are signing off on a positive note demanded by new management team Paul Bowyer and Wayne Goodison.
Numbers game
1874 Northwich have prevailed in each of their four meetings with Nelson, scoring 13 goals.
A 3-1 win at AFC Darwen last weekend means they have surpassed last season’s points total, while maximum points tomorrow will improve on the number of victories they recorded too.
Curiously, they will finish lower in the table – in fifth.
Relegated Nelson arrive at Winsford without a win in April – that’s a sequence of eight matches, six of them defeats.
Man to keep an eye on
Scott McGowan
The in-form striker, who scored a decisive goal to help 1874 Northwich keep hold of the Mid-Cheshire District FA Senior Cup, will make his 50th appearance for the club if selected tomorrow.
He has scored 22 goals in that time.
That statistic is made even more impressive by the fact he has come on as a substitute on 15 occasions.
1874 team news
Goalkeeper Greg Hall will again be missing after injuring a foot while on a trampoline last weekend.
He watched Tuesday’s final from the side-lines.
Andy Robertson is likely to deputise.
Sam Hare and Matty Russell have both succumbed to knocks in the win against Northwich Victoria, and will sit out.
Danny Thomas (eye) and Ryan Jackson (knee) are long-term injury absentees.
