LEAGUE officials picked 1874 Northwich as the best-performing team in the Premier Division during August.
They also selected Greg Hall as goalkeeper of the month, while in-form attacker Sam Hind claims the outfield players’ prize.
Ian Street’s men won four of their five league fixtures, and reached the FA Cup first qualifying round following a 2-1 win against Barnton.
Once there, they took Colne to a replay before bowing out.
Hall conceded 13 goals in 1874’s eight matches, which included two shut-outs.
“Greg was as driving force behind 1874 winning club of the month,” reads an announcement on the league’s website.
“He showed his immense quality throughout August, and was a rock at the back.”
The choice of Hind for best player is less surprising given he scored five goals.
Three of those were during a dramatic come-from-behind win at Congleton, where 1874 trailed 2-0 after an hour.
He also scored twice at Colne to earn a replay in the FA Cup.
The former Glossop attacker also played a part in goals that sank Barnton and New Mills during home wins in cup and league respectively.
“Sam’s goals were important, but his work ethic and all-round support to the team has been outstanding,” read the 1874’s submission to the league.
