RUDHEATH Social showed no rustiness on their return to Cheshire League duty, scoring a notable win against title-hopefuls Whaley Bridge.
Paul Alcock netted twice, while Sean Tierney grabbed the hosts’ other goal at Griffiths Park to cancel out efforts from Adam Jarad and Jack Gregory.
Good work from Jack Woolley teed up Alcock to fire in from inside the penalty area, only for Jarad to skip around goalkeeper Scott Lodge to level.
Alcock’s thumping header made it 2-1, and Tierney’s strike established a two-goal lead.
Matty Jamieson’s strike hit the crossbar before Gregory closed the gap late on.
