WITTON have announced the sale of Lee Cropper to Leek.

The front man has not featured since Scott Dundas was sacked as manager last month, and moves to the Northern Premier League Division One South side after scoring five goals since a summer switch to Wincham Park from Norton United.

His final appearance was as a second-half substitute during Albion’s disappointing FA Cup exit at FC United of Manchester.

Cropper, 25, is the latest of the close-season recruits to follow Dundas through the exit door.

He joins midfield pair Jon Beaumont and Kyle Diskin at Leek, while striker Ben Mills has signed for Newcastle Town.

Niall Green has also been released at his request.

Witton included new recruit George Grayson, a full back, in the starting line-up for Saturday’s 5-0 win at Ossett Town.

He arrives from former Premier Division club Salford City, and featured for tenants Northwich Victoria last term.
