Match pointers

1874 NORTHWICH become the latest team to attempt to inflict a first league defeat of the season on Runcorn Linnets.

Ian Street’s men are one of the Premier Division’s form teams after five successive victories, including back-to-back wins on the road over the past seven days.

The hosts have Ryan Mitchell available again after suspension, while Neil Chappell expects to shake off a groin injury to start in midfield.

Stuart Wellstead, who limped off during Saturday’s 2-0 win at West Didsbury, is definitely out though.

Unbeaten Runcorn have kept a clean sheet on each of their past four visits to Barton Stadium to play Winsford.

Joey Dunn’s side have won six of seven league matches on their travels to date, recovering from two-goals adrift to beat Silsden at the weekend.

Striker Kevin Towey scored his 50th goal for the club as part of that comeback.
