1874 NORTHWICH and Prescot Cables meet for the right to visit FC United of Manchester in the first qualifying round.
The home team, conquerors of league rivals Maine Road on their competition debut a fortnight ago, are boosted by the return of midfielder Rick Bailey following a holiday.
Defender Danny Thomas, who suffered a calf injury against their Premier Division foes at the previous stage, has been passed fit as well.
Manager Ian Street has a dilemma in attack, with Mike Brandon and Andy Hurst challenging Dave Short for to start alongside in-form Matthew Beadle.
Northwich lost last time they played at Barton Stadium, but have recovered to win on trips to Bacup & Rossendale Borough and Runcorn Town since.
Prescot needed two attempts to despatch North West Counties League opposition in last season’s edition, beating Congleton after replay.
They then bowed out to Buxton in the first qualifying round.
The Merseyside outfit has scored only once in four Northern Premier League matches to date, but have shut out their opponents in three of those.
