Match pointers
1874 NORTHWICH make the longest, and likely most difficult, trip of the season this Saturday to improving Holker Old Boys.

Ian Street’s men are among the section’s best travellers though, with only title favourites Nelson able to boast of picking up more points on opposition pitches.

A 2-1 win in midweek at Hanley Town, rivals who still have a chance of finishing in a promotion position, is their fourth in succession away from Barton Stadium.

Northwich welcome back defender Craig Farnworth following a suspension, but fellow back-marker Danny Thomas is unable to play.

Nor is midfielder Rick Bailey, while wide man Daley Woods is banned as punishment for his dismissal against Abbey Hey in the North West Counties League Challenge Cup.

Sakeel Abdullah, a scorer in two of his three appearances since signing for 1874 from Nelson, will be hopeful of hanging on to his place in the starting line-up.

Hosts Holker had won six successive matches in Division One before last Saturday’s draw at Chadderton, though they remain unbeaten in the league during 2014.

Nelson and Ashton are the only teams to have won at Rakesmoor Lane this season.

Dave Swarbrick is a man in form after finding the net nine times since the turn of the year, scoring in each of his past three matches for Old Boys.
