ON Saturday Park travelled to Sale and on winning the toss decided to bat first.
With some good bowling and a slow uneven wicket, Park only made 137 from their 50 overs with the loss of nine wickets. Only Johnny Wales and Phil Amatiello made any runs with 27 and 36 respectively.
Sale's run chase didn't get off to a good start either, losing three wickets in the first 10 overs.
But with some poor catching and ambitious stroke play, Sale eventually reached their target of 137 with the loss of six wickets.
Sale finished on 138-6 from 32 overs.
Only Park captain Shingler really got stuck into the Sale batsmen, taking 3-49.
Park took seven points from the game, which probably means that they are out of the title race.
Shingler said: "Once again availability of top players has meant that we haven't been able to put a title challenging side out today and it has probably cost us promotion."
Park entertain top of the table Grappenhall next week.
