WINSFORD visited bottom of the table Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge for what on paper looked an easy game.

Skipper Crellin took the new ball alongside Mike Clarke and in the second over Crellin took a stunning catch in the slip cordon off Clarke's bowling, putting Winsford firmly in control.

Clarke had figures of 3-21 in his opening spell.

He was replaced by Etchells who took 2-17, leaving the home team on 78-6.

Winsford lost their way as Bishop made 66 and Massey 41, only Crellin with three late wickets taking a modicum of credit, and Cheadle Hulme finished on 205-9.

Winsford were in the mire at 53-5, but Smith and young James Dean put on 82 runs in just 39 minutes with Dean completing his maiden half century.

When Smith went for 35 this sparked another collapse and the visitors were all out for 158 with 12 overs remaining.

With fellow promotion rivals Pott Shrigley losing, Winsford remain in third, five points behind Ashley.
