OAKMERE’S seconds remain in danger of being demoted after they suffered an 82-run reverse at their Mobberley counterparts last weekend.
The home team ran up 203-4 before declaring, with Mitch Brown (56no) and Farrukh Subhani (74no) both passing 50.
Openers James Williams (36) and Mike Dodd (39) laid a solid platform, but Ahmed Khan (4-25) and Phil Burrell (2-23) claimed key wickets before Andrew Manning (3-1) demolished the tail as the visitors succumbed for 121.
Depleted Barnton lost by 64 runs in a Division B West encounter with Kingsley, who amassed 178-9 after being put in.
Tom Hughes (43) and Steve Forster (46) both impressed, while Kingsley Warman (26no) occupied the crease until the innings’ end.
Derek Bowyer earned a reward of 4-49 for his accuracy, and Angus Dean (3-24) chipped in too.
Barnton’s reply stalled at 45-5 and they struggled to recover despite the best efforts of Joel Cross (22), Aidan Malley (18) and Alex Jeffs (17) before slumping to 114 all out.
A victory for Kingsley, their fifth of the campaign, propels them out of the relegation zone.
Winnington Park’s seconds suffered a five-wicket reverse at home to Aston in Division C after they were dismissed for 138.
