KINGSLEY transferred their fine form to a shorter format as they progressed to the Cheshire League T20 Knockout last eight.

Set a target of 111 to beat lower-ranked hosts Chester County Officers, they made it with more than three overs to spare.

Danny Mullins (23) and Tom Hughes (32no) set them on their way at the top of the order before Hayden Lanza (43no off 35 balls) finished the job.

Kris Green (2-24) took the wickets to fall as the Division Two pacesetters closed on 115-2.

They will play Port Sunlight or Old Parkonians, prevented by the rain from playing their third-round encounter last night, in next month’s quarter finals.

Chester posted 111-8 after losing the toss, with Patrick Phelan (2-14) and Tom Waring (2-27) the pick of Kingsley’s bowlers.

Middlewich had too small a total to defend against Division One rivals Haslington after posting 68-7.

Stephen Parry (21) was their leading scorer, while Stuart Price (10no) and captain Phil Parry (11no) added 22 runs for the eighth wicket late on.

Tom Gledhill (2-2), a former regular in the first team at Haddon Field, and Jack Moran (2-15) starred for the home team.

They cruised to a seven-wicket win at 71-3 in the 10th over, with skipper Ben Istead (21no) adding 36 runs for the third wicket with Moran (23).

Rainfall across the count prevented any of the other last 16 ties, including Oakmere’s visit to Cholmondeley, from taking place.
