OULTON Park’s unbeaten start to the campaign ended during a heavy 150-run reverse at home to Bollington at the weekend.

Put in at Little Budworth, the visitors totalled 235 with Peter Henshall (50) their leading scorer.

Matt Parkinson (3-53), Ben Gibbon (3-51) and Andrew Hards (2-27) were the pick of the home team’s bowling attack.

However their usually-reliable batting line-up collapsed to 75 all out against Stuart Plant (6-34) and Jack Ward (3-4) with opener Martyn East (30) the only man to make a start.

Pat Roberts’ men slip to seventh place in the Division One standings as a result.

Oxton proved too strong for struggling Weaverham at Wallerscote Road, where they won by four wickets.

The Russets mustered only 98 after winning the toss, with wicket-keeper Alex Nash (26) and James Bell (27) improving that total at the bottom of the order.

The Wirral outfit replied after tea with 99-6, reaching their target in the 19th over despite the best efforts of George McCormick (4-38) and Kevin Douglas (2-44).

Davenham outplayed hosts Warrington at Walton Lea, where they posted 190-6.

Australian newcomer Peter Gallichan (61) and Chris Hornby (39) put on 59 together for the fourth wicket after opener Ben Gough had made 33.

Captain Dan Hancock (6-28) then took charge, helping dismiss the home team for 76 to secure a crushing 114-run victory.

Northwich chalked up another draw, their third of the campaign, at Mobberley in Division Two.

Chandrika Wathukarage (68) and youngster Matthew Dufty (37) shared in a stand worth 77 runs for the third wicket before the Sri Lankan added another 56 in tandem with captain Mark Walker (36) in the away team’s total of 212-7.

Mobberley reached 187-9 in their reply, during which Walker (2-50) ended a sixth-wicket partnership of 124 between opener Will Berisford-Ince (74) and Abdul Aqeel (56).

Spinner Andy Dufty (5-57) was the visitors’ most effective bowler.
