DAN Gilbert continued a promising start to second stint with Barnton when he took a hat-trick in their draw at Haslington.

The Australian ended a first-wicket stand worth 44 runs, bowling opener Matthew Kennerley-Ryan, before sending back Jack Moran and Ben Istead in successive balls to return figures of 4-49.

Skipper Simon Hancock (3-32) provided support as the hosts posted 177-9 after being put in.

However Barnton were grateful to their last-wicket pair as they held on at 153-9.

Callum Doyle (40) contributed at the top of the order before Gilbert (28) and Jordan Cobley (40 off 43 balls) added 55 for the sixth wicket.

Middlewich played out a draw with their hosts, Hale Barns, in the same section.

Stephen Parry took 4-46 as the home team posted 206-8, while Adam Donnelly claimed 2-63.

A fourth-wicket stand worth 69 runs between James Prime (37) and Parry (31) was a highlight of their side’s reply, which closed 30 short on 176-9.

Kingsley celebrated back-to-back wins following a three-wicket victory at Oakmere, where veteran seamer Adrian Burden was again their star turn.

He followed last week’s eight-wicket haul by taking 5-47, helping restrict the hosts to 164-8.

Ben Stoddart (2-31) and Tom Waring removed danger men Nick Guest (60) and Craig Phelan (43) respectively after they started the innings with promise.

Stoddart (60) contributed with the bat too, but it was Charlie Loye (22no) and Hayden Lanza (27no) that saw the visitors to their target at 165-7.

“It’s a good result at a ground where we’ve always struggled in the past,” said Kingsley skipper Toby Mullins.

“Another tidy fielding performance was followed by a fast-paced start to our reply. That set us up for a successful chase.”

Meanwhile Winnington Park cruised to an eight-wicket win at Bunbury, who had set them a target of 189 to win.

Winsford made their Division Four debut a week late, after Glazebury conceded their opener, and lost by 65 runs at home to Old Parkonians.

They have reason to feel regretful after their guests reached 55-4 at drinks, only for a fifth-wicket stand worth 50 runs between David Nedugodan (33) and Dan Berkson (55) to change the course of the visitors’ innings.

The latter then put on 79 runs with Farukh Nisar (35) in a total of 188-7.

Daniel Holtom took 3-45 for Winsford, who were bowled out for 123 in reply.

David Bates (29) and Mike Dickenson (49) batted well, but Chris Beckett (5-27) took wickets regularly for Old Parkonians.

Hartford were humbled by Saughall in Division Five, slumping to a 123-run defeat.

Set a target of 166 to win, they were skittled for 42 in less than 19 overs.

Lawrence Gotts and Chris Andrews (both 5-17) shared the wickets between them.

A highlight during Saughall’s innings, which closed on 165-6, as a third-wicket stand worth 77 between James Huxley (44) and Adam Griffiths (53).
