DAVENHAM reached a dozen wins for the campaign in Division Two after a nine-wicket win against Irby at Butcher’s Stile.

Set a target of 266 to win, they made it with more than five overs to spare with captain Martin Goff (100no) contributing an unbeaten century with support from fellow opener Chris Truelove (78) and Dave Price (82no).

Earlier, the home team’s bowlers had worked hard on a batting track as Irby posted 265-6.

Mark Jones, with 4-71, was the most profitable of their bowlers.

Weaverham had to settle for a draw with Christleton after totalling 212-7, Rob Dickinson (70) and Stuart Hayes (47no) their leading scorers.

Christleton’s reply stopped at 185-6 after Russell Crowley (76) and Tom Wells (52) passed a half-century at the top of the order.

Hayes (3-60) and Jake Lightfoot (3-60) shared the wickets to fall.

Northwich improved their position in the table following a six-wicket success at home to Mobberley, who they dismissed for 159 after winning the toss.

Captain James Litherland (60) scored a half-century for the visitors, but Mark Wrench (6-27) ended his innings.

Joe Beckett contributed 2-23.

Northwich secured victory at 163-4 after opener Andrew Pickstock (77) sent them on their way.

Oulton Park won by six wickets in the same section at promotion-chasing Cheadle Hulme, who they restricted to 182-6.

Damian Barton and Richard Smith claimed a brace of wickets each.

Elliott Ashwell (67) and Danny Ainsworth (68no) did the bulk of the work in the visitors’ reply, which ended at 183-4 in the 42nd over.

In Division One, Sale’s last-wicket pair denied struggling Middlewich a second win of the season.

Captain Alex Gill (3-25) and Kallum Boyle (3-38) were both among the wickets, but their opponents held on at 188-9.

Earlier, Middlewich amassed 216-6 with James Cornford (100no) reaching the end of the innings unbeaten.

Stephen Parry (45) and Pat Hurley (34) chipped in too.
