DAVENHAM fell back towards the drop zone after failing to collect a single point in a 10-wicket defeat at Tattenhall.

The visitors slumped to 95 all out despite skipper Mark Greaves (33) setting them on course to a bigger total at the top of the order.

At the bottom, John O’Sullivan (17) and Ryan Blackie (18) added 29 runs for the eighth wicket.

It proved in vain, with Glen Coppack (56no) and Jack Harding (33no) helping Tatters to knock off the runs inside 17 overs.

Middlewich returned home similarly empty-handed from a trip to leaders Sale, where they were ousted for 88 after being put in.

Jamie Williams (33) was one the victims for Rick Halkon, who produced the league’s best bowling performance of the campaign with a return of 9-32.

It included a hat-trick.

Sale’s reply of 91-2 included an unbeaten knock from Ian Dixon (46no), with Sam Brothers (1-16) and Nigel Stubbs (1-39) taking the wickets to fall.

Weaverham played out a high-scoring draw with Christleton at Wallerscote Road, where Mitch Renwick (122no) contributed an unbeaten century to the visitors’ tally of 280-6.

He shared in a partnership worth 128 runs for the fourth wicket with Ben Patterson (59).

Antiguan all-rounder Wilden Cornwall took 3-98 for the Russets.

He then found the boundary 20 times on his way to 112 as Weaverham reached 250-8 in reply, Kevin Douglas (34no) making sure of a share of the spoils at the end of the innings.

Oulton Park continued a pursuit of second-placed Timperley after making short work of their guests Cheadle Hulme at Little Budworth.

Andy Hards (5-61) was the pick of the hosts’ bowlers as they restricted the visitors to 140 all out.

They replied with 141-1 in 23 overs, Nick James (56no) and Martyn East (52) putting on 96 runs for the first wicket before Iroshan de Silva (27no) helped finish the job.

Northwich suffered a fourth defeat in their past five Division Two fixtures, this time by four wickets away to fourth-placed Mobberley.

The men from Moss Farm posted 183-8, including a 52-run stand for the second wicket between opener Chamindu Ishanka (30) and James Gittings (45).

Mark Walker (27), Glinoj Cherian (23) and James Plant (21) made starts.

Mobberley made it to their target thanks to Charlie Nield (59), who added 78 for the third wicket with Mark Goodstadt (32) before skipper Nathan Wood (33no) eased his side home.
