BROTHERS Jordan and Lee Cobley shared in an unbroken partnership worth 214 runs on Saturday, but it was not enough to earn their team victory.

Jordan (143no) hit 23 boundaries in his ton, supported by Lee (73no) to help Barnton amass 257-3 before they declared.

Ashley earned a share of the spoils from the Division A encounter after replying with 183-6, with Aidan Malley (3-47) the pick of the bowlers.

Winnington Park claimed maximum points following an eight-wicket defeat of Wilmslow Wayfarers in Division B.

Bryan Shingler (3-26) and Stu Moniz (3-13) bowled fantastic spells as the visitors to the Rec slipped to 88 all out after winning the toss.

The hosts needed only 15 overs to reach their target after opener Kendol Richardson (31), John Bradley (28no) and Darren Falland (21no) – in a 60-wicket stand for the third wicket – contributed to a successful chase.

Oakmere hammered Langley by 118 runs in the same section, buoyed by Pete Lee (140no) and Mike Dodd (60no) sharing in an unbeaten partnership worth 159 as they totalled 241-3.

Lee later held on to three catches as the visitors to Overdale Lane were dismissed for 123, with Mike Cushion (3-11), Pete Hutchinson (3-25) and James Williams (2-9) chipping in.

Kingsley edged a close encounter with Malpas at the Croft by 15 runs, Chris Martin (4-28) claiming a decisive wicket in the game’s final over.

Chasing 129 to win, the away team were restricted by their hosts’ best performance in the field this season.

Andrew Bratt (2-15) and Anthony Alderman (2-14) provided support in the attack.

Earlier, Martin (24) and Pat Phelan (22no) had helped improve Kingsley’s total to 128-9.

In Division C, Winsford ended their wait for a first win this season when they chased 152 to beat Stockport Trinity at Knights Grange.

Mark Skellon (65) scored a half-century.

The visitors had been sent back for 151, with Dave Etchells returning figures of 4-40.
