OULTON Park eased to the next stage of the Cheshire Cup on Sunday following a six-wicket success against county league rivals Timperley at Little Budworth.
Set a target of 240 to win, they reached their target with two overs to spare thanks to well-timed knocks from Daniel Leech (64), Iroshan de Silva (55no) and Pat Roberts (46no).
Earlier, Timperley had totalled 239-7 with Daniel Cooper (112) leading the way. Tom Hyslop took 3-64 for Oulton.
Weaverham saw off lower-ranked Romiley by 34 runs at Wallerscote Road, where they racked up 275-7 thanks to Matthew Jamieson (98) and Wilden Cornwall (49).
Their guests replied with 242-8, Tom Rolph making a century.
Davenham beat Congleton by 66 runs at Butcher’s Stile, where they posted 260-6.
Skipper Mark Greaves (77) and Mike Sambell (35) were the home team’s leading scorers before the visitors reached 194-9 in reply.
Oli Gallagher returned figures of 3-28.
Teenager Sam Stoneley struck a magnificent 179 as Northwich thrashed visitors Ashton on Mersey by 176 runs at Moss Farm.
The home team, boosted by a double-century partnership between Stoneley and new recruit Chaminda Ishanka (59), amassed 302-4 batting first.
Their attack then shared the wickets to fall as Ashton were sent back for 126.
Middlewich bowed out to Sale.
