IAN Eaton will take over as first team captain for Weaverham next season, replacing Stuart Hayes who is recovering from a hand injury.

The Russets were promoted to the Vivio Cheshire County League’s second tier after winning the Division Two title last summer.

For the seconds, Doug Pinnington replaces Rob Harrison as skipper.

Away from the square, Rod Stitch has stood down as chairman following eight years at the helm. Tony Woods steps up.

“We owe a debt of gratitude to those stepping down,” said president Dave Wilson.

“As a club we’re in a strong position with the senior team about to play at the highest level in the club’s history in 2015.”

In other off-field changes, Mark Emmerson takes over as treasurer while Helen Butler will be secretary.

Jon Lightfoot will focus on developing the Wallerscote Road outfit's junior section.

Weaverham begin preparations for the new season during indoor practice sessions at St Nicholas RC High School, in Hartford, from Sunday, February 1.

Seniors and juniors will practice for two hours each week, from 4pm.
