CALLUM Begg scored an unbeaten century to help Kingsley secure a win at Bunbury that makes safe their place in the TACS Partnership Cheshire League’s Division Two for another season.

He hit 16 boundaries, plus a single six, on his way to a run-a-ball 109 in a partnership with Alan Ritchie (68) for the fourth wicket worth 161.

Kingsley closed on 202-4 after 45 overs.

They dismissed their hosts for 184 to claim an 18-run victory thanks to Steve Kitchen (3-24) and Adrian Burden (3-16).

Paul Coot reached a milestone of 1,000 runs for the season during Barnton’s three-wicket loss at home to Lymm.

Ben Wingfield (45) and Adam Garrod (64), who put on 68 in tandem with Mike Cross (31), helped the hosts to 186-6 after winning the toss.

Lymm appeared in trouble at 87-7, only for a century stand between skipper Travis Scholes and Haroon Ahmed to steer them to victory at 188-7.

Already sure of survival, Winnington Park slipped to a four-wicket reverse at home to Chelford after being skittled for 97.

Winsford beat Sandbach by five wickets in Division Three, eliminating a slim chance of being relegated to the Cheshire Alliance.

Set a target of 165 to win, David Potts (60) leading a successful chase supported by contributions from Andy Cooper (33) and Chris Webb (38).

Webb had earlier taken 6-55.

In Division One, wooden spoonists Oakmere succumbed to a six-wicket defeat away to Prestbury.

Only three batsmen – James Williams (34), Paul Yearsley (26) and James Norton (25) – reached double figures in the visitors’ 121-9.

David Norton took 2-12, but the home team were comfortable victors thanks to an unbeaten half-century by opener Myles Mason (72no).
