KRISTIAN Clowes scored an unbeaten century as Middlewich recorded only their second league success of the season in Division One.

He contributed 121, including 15 fours and three sixes, as the visitors scored a crushing nine-wicket win at Christleton on Saturday.

James Cornford (62no) was at the crease with him for a second-wicket stand worth 167 runs as Middlewich reached 191-1.

They had bowled out the hosts for 190, opener Ben Patterson (90) making a half-century while Stephen Bliss (5-31) and overseas signing Jordie Gibbens (3-87) starred with the ball.

In-form Oulton Park rise to sixth in the standings after recording a fourth successive win, this time at Sale’s expense.

Their guests at Little Budworth reached 182, with Andrew Hards (4-47) and Tom Hyslop (3-11) playing a restricting role.

Oulton replied with 183-1 in little more than 25 overs, Cheshire star Rick Moore (77no) preferring to play a supporting role to Hyslop (55 from 36 balls) and Louis Bentley (44no).

Davenham slipped to fifth in the table following a 43-run reverse at home to Macclesfield.

Cornwall, from Antigua, returned figures of 4-46 as the home team succumbed later for 172.

Alvanley had the better of a high-scoring draw against Northwich, scoring 240-7 after winning the toss with Jon Suckley (105no) and Mark Rowlands (69) making the biggest individual contributions.

Sam Shepherd (3-65) and James Plant (2-66) did the bulk of the work by the visitors’ attack.
Northwich responded with 197-8, with Glioj Cherian (59), Plant (49no) and wicket-keeper Sam Stoneley (35) each chipping in.

Rowlands took 3-60 to supplement his score earlier in the day.
