A WINNING draw at Woodford was enough to keep Hartford top of the pile in Division One.
Victors after being asked to bat first in their opening two matches, Gareth Stokes' men fell short as they failed to bowl out their hosts on Saturday.
A 76-run opening stand between Jonny Phillips (39) and Geoff Sharp (27) set the perfect platform for Hartford to set a sizeable target, Stokes (39) and Josh Spruce (22) weighing in with some fine strokes to take their team to 191-8.
Woodford were always going to be pushed to make the target.
Phillips picked up 3-34 as Hartford's spinners put the hosts out of the game.
Coasting for a draw, the visitors made a last ditch effort to buy some wickets before Woodford closed on 181-7 to take an uneven share of the spoils.
Points: Woodford 9, Hartford 14.
