Littler Cup: Round One review

FRODSHAM Red Lion A eased through to the second stage after seeing off last year's finalists Barnton CC A.

They overcame a 46-chalk handicap deficit at Moulton RBL to clinch victory against their Section Two opponents.

Fellow Section One sides Meadow Bank A and Owley Wood A also eased through but there were upsets elsewhere.

Wharton Cons B missed out by two chalks against Section Five minnows Winsford Cons C, who started with a 80-chalk advantage, while Castle Private B crashed out against Section Four side Davenham A.

Tightest tussle of the round was at Kelsall where Winnington Park Rec A edged out Slow and Easy B by a single chalk.

The second round takes place on Tuesday, May 6.
