County call for super seven

SEVEN mid Cheshire players feature in the first county selections of the season.

Cheshire launch their Endsleigh Senior County Championship Section Three campaign against Staffordshire next month.

Castle Private's Jason Cornes and Wharton Cons' Glynn Cookson are in the line up for the home leg at Knutsford BC.

Another Castle bowler, John Gurney, joins Frodsham Red Lion's Rob Winnington among those picked for the away tie at Woodfield Sports and Social Club in Wolverhampton.

Wharton Cons duo Thomas Vickers and Mark Vernon, plus Delamere's Gerald Merry, are on the reserve list.

Both matches take place on Sunday, May 4, from 2pm.
