GARY Cookson has called on a clutch of new faces ahead of Mid-Cheshire's Federation opener next week.

The team manager has drafted in homesters Dave Stanley and Alan Thompson to take on Preston in the Section Three clash at Rudheath Sports and Social Club.

Their mission is start the season in style.

"I hope we win every game," Cookson told the Guardian. The away leg, at Leyland, features a more familiar line up with no fewer than seven players from Winsford giants Wharton Cons in the starting line up.

Only Cons' Dan Nixon will be on duty in Northwich, with Castle Private's Jason Cornes and Paul Mackie the notable absentees.

The two teams have history after Mid-Cheshire bagged maximum points when the pair clashed in Section Four last summer before Preston pinched the second promotion spot.

Ormskirk, Middleton and South Lancashire make up the group.
